WHAT MAKES A MERCER VALVE SPECIAL?

"AUTOSEAT TECHNOLOGY"®

At Mercer Valve, we are proud of our cutting-edge “Auto Seat Technology”®, which employs low-rated springs and a non-rising stem. This innovation ensures a consistently precise set pressure, minimizes repair requirements, and dramatically extends the lifespan of our pressure relief valves. Our products are industry leaders, offering not just cost-efficiency but also the potential to enhance safety and save lives.

NON-RISING STEM

In a Non-Rising Stem design, the torque applied to the adjustment screw does not transfer to the disk and seat, thereby extending the valve’s lifespan. This is achieved because the adjustment bushing remains stationary while compressing the spring.

LOW SPRING RATES

Using low-rated springs enables the valve to open more freely and minimizes additional stresses within the spring as it reaches full opening. This approach helps maintain a more accurate set pressure by preventing excessive stress on the spring.

FULLY GUIDED SPRING

With a Fully Guided Spring, there is no allowance for bowing when the spring compresses. This feature ensures consistent compression of the spring, thereby helping to maintain the set pressure within the valve.

MECHANICAL STOPS

A Mechanical Stop restricts the disk from opening beyond a consistent point with each cycle. This ensures consistent valve capacity from one cycle to the next and prevents the spring from being excessively compressed.

FULLY GUIDED DISK

By having a Fully Guided Disk, it remains aligned with the nozzle, ensuring it seats and seals perfectly with each activation.

LIP SEAL SEAT

Lip Seal Seats are designed to flex, preventing the seat from absorbing the force of the disk closure. This design utilizes pressure to flex and apply additional force against the disk, thereby creating a tighter seal.

9100 SERIES | THREADED

9500 SERIES | SNAP PILOT

The 9500 Snap Pilot Series is engineered to pop open in response to pressure pickup at the inlet of the main valve. Our snap pilots feature an adjustable blowdown that modifies the set spring deflection after the valve has popped—greater deflection results in a shorter blowdown. Based on proven control design principles and incorporating our “Auto Seat Technology”®, the 9500 Snap Pilot Series valve is manufactured to meet the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section XIII UV stamped applications for Air/Gas service. For reliable system pressure regulation and overall quality maintenance, you need a safe and dependable valve. With a service range of 15 psi to 4500 psi and numerous options, the 9500 Snap Pilot Series is a valve you can trust.

9500 SERIES | GAS MODULATING PILOT

The 9500 Gas Modulating Series is designed to gradually open the main valve in response to system overpressure. Modulating pilots produce significantly less shock on a system and offer considerable resistance to wear and tear on the main valve components. Based on proven control design principles and featuring our “Auto Seat Technology”®, the 9500 Gas Modulating Series valve is manufactured in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section XIII UV stamped applications for Air/Gas service. For reliable system pressure regulation and maintaining overall quality, you need a safe and dependable valve. With a service range of 15 psi to 4500 psi and a wide array of options, the 9500 Gas Modulating Pilot Series is the valve you can trust.

9500 SERIES | LIQUID MODULATING PILOT

The 9500 Liquid Modulating Series is designed to gradually open the main valve in response to system overpressure. Modulating pilots produce significantly less shock on a system and offer considerable resistance to wear and tear on the main valve components. Based on proven control design principles and featuring our “Auto Seat Technology”®, the 9500 Liquid Modulating Series valve is manufactured in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section XIII UV stamped applications for Liquid service. For reliable system pressure regulation and maintaining overall quality, you need a safe and dependable valve. With a service range of 15 psi to 1480 psi and a wide array of options, the 9500 Liquid Modulating Pilot Series is the valve you can trust.
